Mmmm... I do love a good breakfast.
My first night was a little awkward. I didn't go into my room, which had 7 other people in it, until around 4am. I was trying to be quiet so I wouldn't wake anyone. I open the door with my cool little key (there is really nothing cool about it, it looks just like a normal key) and I walk in. I turn around to close the door gently just to realize it is one of the doors that SLAMS on its own. So I woke everyone up. So then I had the task of trying not to make any noise while changing into something to sleep in. It was like 25 degrees in my room, so that sucks. It took me 10 minutes to take my pants off. I already felt bad enough for waking everyone up, the last thing I wanted to do was keep them up. I lied in bed for about an hour and a half. I couldn't sleep. I was just lying there. I was on the bottom bunk, and I kept thinking about that scene in Black Sheep when Farley and Spade are in the bunk beds. The roof rips off due to high winds, and it starts to hail. Farley had claimed, I got dibs on top bunk. Anyways, I started laughing out loud to myself for a few minutes, so everyone in my room thinks I'm a fucking retard. Oh well. I'd say I got about 2 hours of on and off sleep. I think im going to move into a room without seven other people snoring and farting in it. Just a thought.
So anyways, I went out to wonder the streets this morning to find a place to eat breakfast. I was kinda lost when I saw a subway (eat shit) so I kept walking. Then I found the gold mine. Dunns Deli. (The "Breakfast Dunn right" sign got me) I got a table and sat down. Now it was more of a restaurant then a deli, so don't get confused. Anyways, Amy my server, who had a HUGE ass, gives me a menu. BREAKFAST SPECIAL it reads. 2 eggs any style, bacon or ham, hash browns, toast AND coffee for...... $2.99.... !!!! I started freaking out and asking Amy all sorts of weird questions. Is this a typo? Do I have to live in Ottawa to get this amazing deal? Sure enough, It was not a typo, and anyone could order it. So i did. It was awesome. I gave her a ten dollar bill because i thought she deserved it (HUGE ASS) and was on my way. As i mentioned before, I was somewhat lost, so I just kept walking around downtown. A few observations I made were as follows.
Ottawa has homeless people. That's cute.
Ottawa is very beautiful.
Ottawa is very similar to Victoria, just everyone speaks french. It blows me away. You cant go a city block with out someone talking some shit i don't understand. I was walking through a park of some sorts, and there were a bunch of kids on a school event. I was a few meters behind the pack when I heard them all yell "LE CHATEAU! LE CHATEAU"... I thought to myself, what the fuck does Chateau mean. Dog? Window? I have idea. But i have never been that excited to see a Dog OR a window, so I ignored them and kept walking. Speaking of walking, it started to rain, but its like 25 degrees. To hot to wear a rain coat, to wet not too. I was stunned. I had no idea what to do, so i found my way back to the hostel and started writing this blog. It looks like it stopped raining, so I'm going to continue my walks. God speed.
