And the day is long

What an awesome day in Toronto today. 3 degrees, sunny and beautiful. The snow is melting and the squirrels are jumping joyously. I made eggs for breakfast as I do most days, but today's eggs seemed to taste just a little bit better. Maybe its the weather, maybe its the its the fact that I used my new Rachel Ray frying pan. Who is to judge.

So I am making more of an effort to write everyday.

For those who don't know, I live right beside a lovely Portuguese Bakery. The ladies inside really like Grant RJ and I because we visit almost everyday and we always make them laugh. Most of the ladies that work there are older Portuguese women, but there is one younger lady that works every now and then that gives me the eyes. I'm sure shes a nice gal and all but I'm more interested in getting my coffee Portuguese bun then chatting about the weather and new and shit. Once in a while I will get a sandwich that they make fresh with whatever meat and cheese you want. I always get the same thing and all the sandwiches come with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard. So last time I got a sandwich from her this is what she says.

So, you want me to make you a sandwich huh?

Yeah, that'd be great thank you.

Let me guess, you want lettuce and tomato!

You know it, I say kinda sarcastically

And you want mustard and mayo to right?

Sure sounds great thank you.

And let me guess, you want Havarti cheese?

Okie dokie, I say running out of ideas on how to answer her as she gazes into my blue eyes. Its just kinda off putting. I just want to say MAKE MY SANDWICH FOR CHRIST SAKES. But I can't do that. This whole processes takes almost 8 minutes when it should take 2. That's 6 minutes of uncomfortable and awkward banter in broken English. Now when I see her I don't even bother with the sandwich, but it still takes her 5 minutes to pour me a cup a fuckin coffee. And EVERYTIME I order a coffee, they ask 'double double, right?' Umm no, black please. Ohh.. ok. 15 seconds go by. 'You don't want any sugar?' they ask like I'm the only person that has ever ordered a black coffee. Umm Nope, no sugar... just black. You'd get the same look if you went into a KFC and asked for your 3 piece chicken meal to be cook medium rare. Christ. I do love the bakery tho. The best part is it opens a 4am, so some days when I work until 3 and get home at 4, I go over for and get a drink and little something. I leave and I say 'good night' and buddy says, 'good morning!'

I am having people over on Monday night for my birthday. Come on down if you're in town.
